FOR WINDOWS
Best AI Interview Copilot for Windows
Interview Helpers is a Windows-native AI interview copilot — a stealth overlay built specifically for Windows 10 and Windows 11 that stays invisible to Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams screen share thanks to a Windows-only API (WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE). Most competitors are browser-based or cross-platform Electron apps without native stealth. That difference matters in a real interview.
Why Windows-native matters
WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag
The overlay uses the Windows-native SetWindowDisplayAffinity API to become invisible to any capture pipeline — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, OBS, and Snipping Tool cannot see it, even during entire-screen share. This is a Windows-only capability; equivalent macOS APIs are more restrictive.
Global hotkeys without focus theft
Windows lets us register global hotkeys (Ctrl+1 screenshot, Ctrl+Shift+A speaker mode) that fire without stealing focus from your IDE. No visible focus flash on screen share.
DXGI Desktop Duplication API
Native full-screen capture using DXGI — sub-100ms latency, no permission popups, no browser sandbox limits. Same tech used by professional screen-recording tools.
Windows Audio Session (WASAPI)
System audio capture through WASAPI feeds Deepgram Nova-3 for real-time interviewer transcription. Nothing about this requires cloud audio processing — the raw PCM is streamed directly.
No taskbar / Alt-Tab presence
The overlay hides itself from the Windows taskbar and Alt-Tab window switcher, so even a curious interviewer glancing at your taskbar wouldn't spot it.
Signed NSIS installer, ~30s setup
The desktop app ships as a code-signed NSIS installer (no admin required for install), boots in under 2 seconds, and auto-updates in the background.
Setup on Windows in under 5 minutes
Download Interview Helpers
Grab the signed .exe from /download. Windows 10 build 2004+ or Windows 11 (64-bit). About 30 seconds.
Sign in with your account
Use the same account you signed up with here. Trial gives you 10 free messages plus 5 minutes of speaker mode, no credit card.
Verify stealth on a self-test
The first-run wizard walks you through a Zoom / Meet / Teams self-share to confirm the overlay stays invisible to screen share on your machine.
Position + pick your model
Drop the overlay top-right so eye movement matches your natural code-reading direction. Pick GPT-5.6 Terra for warm-ups, Claude Sonnet 5 or Opus 5 for hards.
Ctrl+1 to capture in the interview
One hotkey captures the screen, attaches to the AI prompt, streams the answer. Multi-screenshot batching, follow-up context, all under 2 seconds to first token.
Windows AI interview copilot — FAQ
What is the best AI interview copilot for Windows?
Interview Helpers is a stealth Windows overlay purpose-built for tech interviews. It uses the Windows-native WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag so it stays invisible to Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and every other screen-capture pipeline — even during entire-screen share. Hotkey screenshot capture, four switchable AI models (GPT-5.6 Terra/Sol, Claude Sonnet 5/Opus 5), and live Deepgram speaker transcription.
Does the AI interview app work on Windows 11?
Yes — Interview Helpers runs on Windows 10 (build 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. The stealth overlay uses APIs available on both.
Do I need admin privileges to install?
No. The NSIS installer runs in user-mode by default and installs to your local AppData directory. Admin install is optional but not required.
Will Windows Defender or SmartScreen flag the app?
The installer is code-signed with a valid certificate, so SmartScreen accepts it without a warning after the reputation warm-up. If you see an "Unrecognized app" prompt on the very first install, click "More info" then "Run anyway".
How does the overlay stay invisible to Zoom, Meet, and Teams on Windows?
On Windows 10 build 2004 and later, apps can call SetWindowDisplayAffinity with the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag to opt out of every capture pipeline. Interview Helpers sets this flag on its overlay window at startup, so Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Snipping Tool, OBS, and every other capturer see nothing where the overlay is drawn.
Is there a Mac version?
A macOS beta with equivalent stealth is in progress; Windows ships first because the OS APIs for capture exclusion are more mature. If you're on Mac today, the workaround is to share a specific browser tab (never entire screen) and keep the AI helper in a separate Space.
Which AI models does the Windows app support?
GPT-5.6 Terra (fastest, for warm-up problems), GPT-5.6 Sol (premium reasoning), Claude Sonnet 5 (balanced), Claude Opus 5 (strongest for system-design). Switch between them in one click from Settings → AI Model.
